Healing on the Waters

On a normal day fishing guides Captain Sal Fontana and his son Sal Jr. have their boat filled with clients anticipating a good day on the waters of the Gulf of Mexico just off the coast of St. Bernard Parish, but today is anything but normal.

Instead of clients with bait and polls eager to catch the big one, the Fontana’s are carrying pastors with salt and communion sacraments to perform a prophetic act over the waters of the Gulf. Pastors Craig Ratliff, Derek Buchert, Jimmy Jeffries, John Jeffries, and Keith Stone gathered together to trust God to end the oil spill.

The salt was a prophetic act as outlined in 2 Kings 2:21 “Then he went out to the source of the water, and cast in the salt there, and said, “Thus says the LORD: ‘I have healed this water; from it there shall be no more death or barrenness.’” The communion was to remember the covenant we have with Jesus that encompasses a multitude of promises.

We prayed speaking to the waters and the oil flow asking the Lord to move in one case and in another commanding the water and oil to obey the dominion God has given us. We poured salt and left over communion into the water as and act of purifying the water. It was apparent that the presence of God was with us.

After returning to port, we had the opportunity to pray for several officials including BP and Coast Guard representatives whom we blessed and pulled down word curses.  Although oil has entered the Louisiana Coast, no oil has come into the St. Bernard marshes. We believe this is the result of an intercessor team we took to the coast earlier this month. Please continue to pray for everyone affected by the spill.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah

This last week we had the joy of hosting three wonderful women of God. Hannah, Lydia, and Rain, members of the now infamous South Carolina School of Leadership, the group that prayed with us about the Healing Center, spent the week helping us paint ceilings and walls as we move forward with the renovations of the Center. The fabulous trio spent time ministering to some ladies in our community, attending church services, and worshiping with us. The gang also helped us hash out some details on our soon to be internship. We’re all praying about how to proceed and who may come back and help us pioneer this new aspect of BlueStone. Most importantly we all enjoyed each others company and had a great time with the Holy Spirit in fellowship. We love you ladies! We know, Yeah, yeah, yeah, Absolutely!

Outrageous Outreach

Recently we went to the French Quarter to share the love of Jesus. There are many outreaches conducted by Christians in New Orleans and sadly many are led by well meaning believers who condemn rather than showing the love of Jesus.

In Romans, Paul warns the Church about harsh judgment and reminds us of God’s longsuffering towards our sin. “And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God? Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?” Romans 2:3-4 NKJV

A better translation of the end of verse 4 is: “the kindness of God leads you to repentance?” It is the kindness of God that we want to show on our outreaches in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

God sent us to Spider a local soothsayer and warlock. He had been cursed and harassed by Christians over the years, but we released the love of Jesus all over him. In the end he allowed us to pray for his healing from a couple of diseases. We didn’t compromise the gospel, but we approached him with the love of Jesus. Cassandra was able to share the story of the prodical son, and it was visible that Spider was moved.

We also meet James, a homeless man who was sitting in a store front cooling off from the heat. We offered him a couple of bottles of water and he allowed us to pray for him. We spoke blessing and the Fathers love into his life. Brian and Cassandra laid hands on James and shared the gospel with him. He received the love and we saw his countenance change as he did.

We prayed for others and shared prophetic words of encouragement with many that day. Some received what the Lord was doing while others cursed and turned away. We will continue these outreaches throughout the summer. God loves New Orleans and it is a ripe mission field yearning for the Presence of the Lord.

Massive weapons discovered in St. Bernard

Once again the Weapons of Mass Construction were discovered in St. Bernard. The group of men from Georgia, worked hard in St. Bernard wiring the home of Pastor Ronnie London, clearing yard debris for a disabled man, and doing multiple projects at the Louisiana Healing Center: Plumbing, repairing gas lines, drywall and muding, and spraying texture on the ceilings.

The WMC were treated to a Crawfish boil by their host, Pastor Rustin Treadaway and his wife Jeannie followed by a special treat from BluesTone Ministries.

We are very thankful for friends like the Weapons who God has sent to help us build the Louisiana healing Center.
